It's funny because I was recently looking back through some of my pics from Nicaragua and was wondering why my stomach looked so pooched when I remembered that I had a money belt on underneath my clothes. They definitely come in handy although they can be somewhat hard to maneuver when you need to take things out of them in public. Definitely be careful on the metro in Rome. When we were there, it was closed at the time we were planning on taking it, but maybe that's a good thing because I've heard my fair share of horror stories about pickpockets on their metro.Dana Carmel @ Time Travel Planshttp://www.timetravelplans.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304636801774028050.post-20728207772368102762014-06-24T09:39:48.677-04:002014-06-24T09:39:48.677-04:00I just bought a cheap, no-bells-or-whistles purse,...I just bought a cheap, no-bells-or-whistles purse, and since I don't wear expensive jewelry anyway, I think I'll be set. I'll just go into ninja mode and try to blend in with my surroundings. ;)Katrina Elisabethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15083877882755665975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304636801774028050.post-89344536469467264832014-06-24T09:35:08.118-04:002014-06-24T09:35:08.118-04:00Thanks! I'm sure we will be, but I tend to be melodramatic at times. ;) I think the reason I am so concerned about being pickpocketed is that I've been reading the blog of a local who has experienced a lot of trouble in that department lately! Still - we will have a blast and hopefully not spend/lose too much money!Katrina Elisabethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15083877882755665975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304636801774028050.post-13585565996830584612014-06-24T08:45:13.533-04:002014-06-24T08:45:13.533-04:00I would say just don't bring anything nice!!! ...I would say just don't bring anything nice!!! Even locals get robbed, just be careful and take precautions to protect yourself and your belongings without putting a downer on your explorations of the city.

Floating in Israel's Dead Sea Biancahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14235199123664151636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304636801774028050.post-10235131001751867642014-06-23T14:55:23.167-04:002014-06-23T14:55:23.167-04:00It's definitely the smart way to go. I think I may be slightly paranoid, but it seems that almost every blog post I've read about Italy lately is about getting ripped off in some way, shape, or form. Oh, well, if I prepare for the worst, then I'll be ecstatic when nothing bad happens!Katrina Elisabethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15083877882755665975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304636801774028050.post-22015874074122428642014-06-23T13:30:23.858-04:002014-06-23T13:30:23.858-04:00Luckily, I've never had any problems. My husband always carries his wallet in his front pocket not his back pocket and we always carry bags/purses that zip.
